What an alert looks like

The latest change that would have reached an Act now channel:

DeprecatedGemini API

Gemini Embedding 2 Preview deprecated; requests route to gemini-embedding-2 from November 6

Since November 6, 2026, requests to gemini-embedding-2-preview route to gemini-embedding-2 and are billed at Gemini Embedding 2 rates. Update the model string; the API schema, pricing and embedding space are the same, so no other code changes or re-indexing are needed.

Official source

How changes are checked

  • The official changelogs and deprecation pages of each tool are read every day.
  • Each candidate is checked against the vendor's page before it is listed: dates, model names and prices exactly as the page states them.
  • Bare patch releases and re-worded old entries are left out.
  • Every entry links to its official source. Summaries are paraphrases: check the source before acting.
